Dear sweet backers,
I hope you're all doing well! I'm here to introduce you to the next watch we've come up with called the Crossroads. It has already surpassed (almost doubled!) its funding goal, and I wanted to make sure that you all had a chance to get it on it with the best price too (there's an extra $25 off for the first 24 hours)! Here's the link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nathantrafford/crossroads-watch-by-trafford-watch-co
It's kind of interesting because the watch itself was actually inspired by all of you who helped to make the Roadster a reality. After the Roadster shipped, I was blown away by some of the messages I got from you all about the reasons why you bought the watch. Some for graduations. Some got a new job. I even had one of you buy one to celebrate telling her husband that they were pregnant with their first kid. That is SO cool to me, and really inspiring. It got me thinking about these important moments and why we celebrate them with things like watches. There's something romantic about the idea of using something timeless (a watch) to celebrate important moments in time. So I started sketching and one of the earliest visuals to come out of it was a curved horizon line with a sun just peeking over. This represents new horizons and opportunities. This curved line sketch would eventually turn into the side profile of the Crossroads watch.
This curved horizon line became an important part of the watch design, repeating in multiple places. You can find it on the edges of the watch when looking at it straight on. It's on the custom rotor on the back. It's also on the strap buckle.
So it's kind of fun how you guys actually had a hand in the design of this next watch! Pretty cool if you ask me! We will still be doing story-driven designs in the future, but we wanted to expand into this space of conceptual design for this release.
There's more of a local flair to this model, with the colors pulled from elements that you'll find all over central Texas, where we are based. Here are the 4 colors:
Anyway, this is getting to be a looong message, so I'll cut it off here as not to bore you completely. There's TONS of information over on the campaign page if you want to dive in to that. Remember, there's a $25 discount option for the first 24 hours of the campaign only.
Again, I hope you're all doing well and still enjoying your Roadsters! Please reach out to me with anything at all!
Best wishes,
Nathan Trafford
